Bio-Chemical Engineering at SDSM&T

The biochemical engineering laboratory is well-equipped for a variety of biochemical engineering projects. Dr. Patrick Gilcrease brought some equipment with him as part of ongoing projects and other pieces have been purchased with funds donated to the Chemistry and Chemical Engineering Department by the Cargill Company as part of a large grant to the department from the Cargill Company. The laboratory instruments include the following items.

  • Two 2-Liter fermentors
  • 20-Liter fermentor
  • UV-Vis Scanning spectrophotometer
  • HPLC with UV-Vis diode array detector
  • High speed centrifuge with 3-Liter capacity
